ReplyDeleteRonka, I was recalling how babushka and I went to Chelyabinsk to celebrate Marishka's birth! It was a month or two after the birth, since I remember the dead of winter. I was only 2 and a bit years old. I have many memories from that trip! Including Marishka's cradle. I broke a bar in it and Tatjana's brother Alik was fixing it. I also remember Tatjana ice skating! I was mesmerized. It was SOOOO beautiful! They dressed me in a fur coat, many layers underneath, and 'valenki' on my feet! And in all that, forgetting that I was watched by others, I did my best mimicking my aunts movements while she did that amazing ice skating!
